RealmWeaver Terms of Service

Effective Date: April 8, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using RealmWeaver ("the Service"), operated by RealmWeaver ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

RealmWeaver is a web-based companion tool for tabletop roleplaying games. The Service provides features including, but not limited to, campaign management, character creation and management, a rules compendium, homebrew content creation, encounter tracking, and session management.

RealmWeaver is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Wizards of the Coast LLC, Hasbro, Inc., or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates. "Dungeons & Dragons," "D&D," and related marks are trademarks of Wizards of the Coast LLC.

2. Account Registration and Security

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
You may not create more than one account per person.
You must promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Subscription Tiers and Payments

The Service offers the following tiers:

Player (Free): Basic features including character management, compendium access, and session participation with up to 500 MB of storage.
GameMaster (Paid): Enhanced features including campaign creation and management, homebrew content tools, and encounter management with up to 10 GB of storage.
GrandWeaver (Premium): All GameMaster features plus AI-powered tools and up to 25 GB of storage.

For paid subscriptions:

Fees are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected).
All fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.
We will provide at least 30 days' advance notice before any price increase. Continued use after the effective date of a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

4. Licensed Game Content (SRD)

The Service incorporates content from the Systems Reference Document 5.1 ("SRD 5.1") published by Wizards of the Coast LLC. This content is used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC-BY-4.0).

The full text of the CC-BY-4.0 license is available at: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode
SRD content within the Service is attributed to Wizards of the Coast LLC.
The CC-BY-4.0 license applies solely to the SRD game content. It does not apply to RealmWeaver's platform, software, design, or any user-generated content.
You may not use the Service to redistribute SRD content in bulk or in a manner that competes with or substitutes for the original SRD.

5. User-Generated Content (Homebrew)

The Service allows you to create, upload, and share custom content ("User Content"), including but not limited to homebrew monsters, spells, magic items, equipment, character options, and images.

Ownership: You retain all ownership rights to your original User Content.

License to Us: By uploading or submitting User Content to the Service, you grant RealmWeaver a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service. This license terminates when you delete the User Content or your account, except where your content has been shared with or copied by other users through the Service's sharing features.

Your Responsibilities: You represent and warrant that:

You own or have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to upload and share all User Content you submit.
Your User Content does not infringe, misappropriate, or violate any third party's intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, or patents.
Your User Content does not contain material that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
You will not upload content copied from published game books, supplements, or other copyrighted sources unless you have explicit permission from the rights holder or the content is available under an open license (such as the SRD under CC-BY-4.0).

Consequences of Violation: We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms and to suspend or terminate accounts of repeat offenders.

6. Intellectual Property Takedown (DMCA)

RealmWeaver respects the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content hosted on the Service infringes your copyright or other intellectual property rights, you may submit a takedown notice to our designated agent.

Takedown Notice Requirements:

A valid notice must include:

Identification of the copyrighted work or intellectual property claimed to be infringed.
Identification of the allegedly infringing material on the Service, with sufficient detail for us to locate it.
Your contact information (name, address, email, phone number).
A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the rights owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights owner.
Your physical or electronic signature.

Counter-Notification: If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification. We will process counter-notifications in accordance with applicable law.

Repeat Infringers: We will terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers.

7. Platform Liability for User Content

The Service does not pre-screen, monitor, or endorse User Content.
We are not responsible or liable for any User Content uploaded, posted, or shared by users.
We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to review, modify, or remove any User Content at our sole discretion.
If you encounter User Content that you believe violates these Terms, please report it to us at legal@realmweaver.games.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service to harass, abuse, threaten, or intimidate other users.
Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other users' accounts, or connected systems.
Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or collect data from the Service without our written permission.
Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features, subscription restrictions, or usage limits.
Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely claim an affiliation with any person or entity.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.

9. Privacy and Data

Data We Collect: We collect information you provide during registration (email address, display name) and data generated through your use of the Service (characters, campaigns, homebrew content, usage patterns).

Cookies: The Service uses authentication cookies necessary for the operation of the Service. These cookies expire after 30 days of inactivity.

Data Usage: We use your data to provide and improve the Service. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Data Retention: Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

Third-Party Services: The Service may use third-party services (such as authentication providers, cloud storage, and analytics) that have their own privacy policies. By using these features, you agree to be bound by the applicable third-party privacy policies.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
IN NO EVENT SHALL REALMWEAVER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR DAMAGES. IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE GREATEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

11. Account Termination

By Us: We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct that is harmful to other users, to us, or to third parties. Where practicable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to cure before termination, except in cases of severe or repeated violations.

By You: You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our data retention practices.

Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Content you shared with campaigns or other users may persist in those contexts after account deletion.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we do:

We will update the "Effective Date" at the top of these Terms.
We will increment the version number.
You will be required to review and accept the updated Terms upon your next login before continuing to use the Service.
Your acceptance of updated Terms constitutes your agreement to the changes. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should discontinue use of the Service and delete your account.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If informal resolution fails within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution through binding arbitration or in the small claims court of the applicable jurisdiction.

You agree that any claims shall be brought in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
